About the Event

What is Fodder School Live?

Fodder School Live is a four-day, in-person creative experience filled with making, learning, experimenting, and connecting. You'll spend time with inspiring instructors, explore new materials and techniques, and enjoy being part of a community of people who love to make.

Who is Fodder School Live for?

Anyone who loves to make! Whether your creative practice includes mixed media, collage, fiber, paper, paint, stitch, bookmaking or a little bit of everything, you'll feel right at home.

Do I need to be an experienced artist?

Not at all. Fodder School Live is about exploration, curiosity and creative play. You don't need a particular level of experience to participate. Come ready to try things, learn and have fun.

What happens during the four days?

Your days will include hands-on workshops, demonstrations, time to experiment and plenty of opportunities to connect with instructors and fellow participants.

A detailed schedule will be available before the event so you'll know what to expect each day.

Can I attend for just one or two days?

Fodder School Live is designed as a complete four-day experience, so registration is for the full event unless otherwise noted.

Supplies and What to Bring

Are supplies included?

Some materials and supplies will be provided, while there may also be a short list of basic tools or favorite supplies to bring from home.

You'll receive a complete supply list well before the event, so there will be plenty of time to prepare.

Do I have to bring everything on the supply list?

We'll let you know which items are essential and which are simply suggestions. We don't want you arriving with your entire studio in your suitcase!

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little messy are perfect. Layers are also a good idea since room temperatures can vary.

An apron is always a smart addition.

What should I bring besides art supplies?

Bring your supplies, comfortable clothes, a water bottle, your sense of curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

Most importantly, don't worry about making everything perfect. Fodder School Live is about trying things, discovering new ideas and enjoying four creative days together.

During the Event

Will there be time to work on my own?

Yes. Fodder School Live is designed to give you room to experiment with what you're learning rather than rushing from one activity to the next.

Can I come by myself?

Absolutely. Many people attend creative events on their own. Fodder School Live is designed to make it easy to meet people, work alongside one another and become part of the community.

You may arrive on your own, but you probably won't feel that way for long.

Will there be shopping?

Yes, we will have vendors attending.

Can I take photographs during the event?

Personal photos are welcome in most areas, but please be respectful of instructors, other participants and artwork. Individual instructors may have their own guidelines about photographing demonstrations or workshop materials.

Will photographs be taken at the event?

Yes, we may photograph or record portions of Fodder School Live to share on our website, social media and future event materials. We'll provide information about our photography policy to participants.

Are meals included?

Meals are on your own and we will include a list of local restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Is the venue accessible?

Registration, Payment and Cancellation

What is the cancellation policy?

Because this is a limited-capacity event with advance commitments to instructors and the venue, we strongly recommend reviewing the cancellation policy before registering.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

If you're unable to attend, contact us as soon as possible and we'll let you know what options are available.

What happens if Fodder School Live sells out?

Once the event reaches capacity, we'll open a waitlist. If a space becomes available, we'll contact people on the waitlist in the order in which they joined.

I still have a question. Who should I contact?

We'd love to help. Contact us at [email protected]
